Graves of three Turkish airmen at the Umayyad Mosque, Damascus, Syria. They died after their experimental flight from Istanbul to Cario carshed in the Syrian desert in 1914.

The text on the headstones is illegible to modern Turks as although written in Turkish, uses the old Arabic alphabet changed by Kemal Ataturk after the post WWi birth of the Turkish Repulic.
